Charlie Kurth

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Western Michigan University. I received my Ph.D. at the University of California, San Diego.

My research interests include: ethics (all flavors), moral psychology, philosophy of mind, and metaphysics. In my recent work, I've been particularly interested in questions at the intersection of the philosophy of emotion and ethical theory.

I grew up in the Washington, DC area and went to college at the University of Virginia. Before returning to school to study philosophy, I spent three years working in finance in New York City. When not thinking about philosophy, I like to be doing something outside--hiking, camping, rock climbing, fly fishing, cycling--or something in the kitchen--cooking or brewing beer.
